Help w/Name Inside K98 Pouch Lid

I have what seems to be a reissued K98 pouch (RAHM & KAMPMANN KAISERSTAUTERN 1940). All the metal hardware has been painted black and the dividers removed. Inside the center lid is a hand written name that does not appear to be German. What country would the person who wrote the name have come from?

Definetly looks like it was used by Russia to me, by the way cyrilic writing was started in Russia.

that ammo pouch was used by russian soldier and that is sure. But it could be used by soldier of Red army not only ostbattalion or HiWi. There were shortages of equipment in Red army ( for example many used string instead belt because there was shortage of belts , many soldiers carried ammo in their pockets, or hanged on string which was used as belt cause there were shortage of pouches etc. ). I have seen many photos of russian soldiers of Red army who used german equipment ( messkits, ammo pouches etc. )

yes Mike it might be common in Eastern Europe, but where i belong you don't come by one so often....the Red Army never reached my neighbourhood...

That is a neat marking. I enjoy items like this because it is fun for me to speculate about where the thing has been. Here is a similar item, a battered mess kit from the Kurland pocket, with Cyrillic initials.
