    p38 holster

I had this one for a while now and wonder now if it's WW2 or postwar made?
No visible markings, possible a late war?
    Thanks for your help!

Is it really a P38 holster??

It looks like a Tokarev holster or another Russian gun, because it has the leather-attachment on the left side for a cleaning-rod....

          Hi François

I've noticed it as well. Except this detail the construction is the same as any softshell P38 holster.

            Hello
I have the same one , but made of " pigskin leather" and it is dated 44 and P38 marked , does also have the cleaning rod provision.
            Regards
            P-Y

                Hi wolhans,

It's difficult to tell for sure from the angle of the pictures but the spare mag pouch looks too thick for a P.38. From what I can see, it looks more like a spare mag pouch for a double stack magazine. If it was WWII era, I would say it's for a High Power.

The belt loops on virtually all WWII P.38 holsters are stitched on at an angle and staggered vertically so the holster would set on the belt at an angle.

                Regards, Leon

That is another thing that concerns me Fred.
Leon is right, that is not normal on a P38 holster, and also the attachment for the cleaning-rod.
It could be made for another gun that was in service of the Germans, it don't has the characteristics for a P38 holster......

                    Thanks for your replies.
I'll post a pic showing this holster and a P08 one.
I don't see problme with the belt loop? Hang perfectly vertically.
