I am looking to pick up some German flares for an LP42 flare pistol and a Heersmodell flare pistol, I have no idea what they typically cost? Just looking for an idea as to where I might find these (other than ebay, and possibly here on the estand), and what is a decent price to pay for either a fired flare casing, or a complete unfired flare? THanks, Chris....

Flares
I am looking for an idea of all of the above, I have seen prices all over the place on this stuff (when it pops up), but am not sure of the best source for flares. I am specifically interested in the following (to clarify):
1) Fired (spent) Original German WW2 flare casings for display, I have the pistols, and have now acquired some accessories to go with the flare guns, but have no "flares" to display with them, I have seen where folks have filled the top of the flare casings to resemble an unfired round for display purposes.
2) I would also be interested in some postwar or original flares that haven't been fired, although I doubt if I could bring myself to fire off an Original WW2 era flare, so probably a postwar, something to pop off on New Years or something, I'd like to just once shoot off one of my flare pistols.
Hopefully that wasn't too long winded, just need to know what to expect to pay that would be reasonable, and also where to find them? Thanks, Chris...

Chris,
Too long winded, no, not at all. Used flare casing pop up from time to time on ebay as well as Manions. I have also seen them on www.germnimilitaria.com
I have never seen any live German WW2 flares for sale. I have seen plenty post war from the former eastern block countries. I have two or three boxes of blue smoke and a box or so of yellow or green. I know I have a few sites where you can order these from. I'll take a look and and post them here.
Make sure your Leuchtpistole is in good condition before you even think about putting a round through it. The flares have quite a kick to them and the pistol needs to be able to handle it.

Hi,
I have quite a few german flares, unfired, from WW2. Mostly smoke, some others as well. I would sell them (smoke) for 12 Euros each, unfired. But I am not sure if shipment to the US is ok. Some others I would sell as well, Pfeifpatrone and Sternsignalpatrone, for 28 Euros.
I have quite a few postwar flares to shoot as well. Normal red or green (one star or 3 Stars) are 4 Euros each, long Shrapnel (flashbang) are 7 Euros. Parachute are 10 Euros.
If interested have a look here for some pics and send me a pm:
