is this the true meaning of the "A" ?

hey Guys, Glenn here. I know there are past threads here where people ask that infamous compass question, "what does the white "A" on the cover mean?" I know, 'cause I was one of them. no one seems to be able to give an answer though. well maybe, just maybe this Guy has uncovered the the mystery. check out this link. but then again, someone here might say He is totally wrong. any thoughts? Glenn

    " A " means Artillerie

by the A modell the numbers 360° or 6400' are written in the other directon.

                          thanks benutzer!

I have checked my compasses and you are right.

As I don´t have any of the reibert´s to look it up for myself......... my question is........ what´s the point of this? couldn´t they just use the

nice examples Andundiek. Ace, Im going with your explanation. well, Im gonna try a different route now as Im looking for a nice complete compass like the ones Andundiek is showing us. but Im only after one example. now this question is:

has anyone see period pics of Heer infantry using the "A" style compass? or has anyone seen period pics of the "A" compass in use and if so, do you know what branch the person was in?

I like the "A" style but Im into Heer infantry pieces only and want to keep my collection as true to issue as possible. any info would be greatly appreciated. Glenn

ahh yes Sigi, I see from Andundieks examples what you are stating here. I dont understand why though the numbers are backwards? what specific purpose would this be for? Glenn
