    What's This Box?

    Hi Gents,
    Please help me to identify this german box found by a collector friend on the local flea market few months ago?
    The Box was repainted in black and green after the war to give it a new job in the civil life. Wood parts were removed inside.
    Have you already see one German box Same as this one?
    I think that it can be a box for an optical item.
    Have you a same box in your collections?
    Have you period pics we can see this box?

      I saw the same box at a friend who have a Sdkfz 250,this box contains an optic.

        Richtkreis 31

        It contained Richtkreis 31 optical device connected with compass, to plot MG or mortar fire in one dirction.

          many thanks for your replies.
          I just find a german web site on the opticals and I found the box.
          pzo, you are right, it is exactly a "Kasten für Richtkreis 31".
          Now, I would find period era pic with this optic and box in use.
