Gas sheet bags.

Hi

Here are five gas cap bags, three have the cape inside two treated paper type , and one ruberized cloth type, and the interesting markings on capes and bags one bag has plastic buttons instead of popers. I agree they are rare and seldom encountered. and you can find mint ones with capes also, have seen photos of troops in normandy all issued with gas cape bags but as willi says longer issued the cape in the later years, due to mabe? the fact it was hard enough to get the inportant items to the troops the gas tin seamed to still be issued up till the end though?

recently I have seen several gas sheets on ebay. Are these original? Have these been faked, too? Have these been used postwar or by other nations?

I guess we have the same feeling about that I have over time seen myriads of emty gas cab bags and no sigth of the cape?? I'll tell you one interesting story! Not too long time ago some "roof people" I know should renew a roof on a older house and!!!!! They found can't say the number but a lot of the cape's who was used as underroof (wind isolations) amazing I think, but very practic. Here in Denmark the years after the war nothing or just a little housebuildings materials could be providet, so people look for some easy and cheep's way of finding and there it was. Well I guess not all cape's was used this way but now we all know where some goes to? Do you now think I got some?? NO I first got the story late to late. They throw it all in the garbage D****
