What do you think guys with this strange belt loop ?

The hook is marked "SSM 42" and the belt loop 4/37 ...
Thus not the same year
The B. means ? (Bau ?)

Why this horizontal retaining strap ?
An modification for a tool?

IMO is not for a Saber or Dagger.

My theory at this point is that the whole leather bpart is real and 1937 made...
I also thing that canteen clips has been reattached !!!

date on the clip and messed up rivets would suggest that....

IMO that was done in factory, because of good quality.

But for wich use ?
