    1944 dated flare pistol holster

    Something I grabbed at the SOS. A vet bring back item with original cleaning rod. The first '44 dated holster I have seen.

            Great wrangle on the flare pistol pouch.

            I have to check the date on mine tonight.

              The 1944 production was probably very limited. The one I used to have was all rivets! Belt loops, lid etc was all riveted. There is a late-war model of the cleaning rod as well. That one makes away with the leather loop/hook arrangement and the soldering. The whole rod is one piece that has been bent instead of the separate handle soldered to the rod. I have only seen 1943 dated rods, never as late as 44.
