RARE a red Frag Sleeve for Stielhandgranat Original ?

    Hello Guys,
I've bought this frag sleeve since a long time.
What you think about it ? An original piece ?
Only marks with a WaA815 and a 4 (1944) any manufacturer. This one has a red color for rust ?
Does somebody already saw this model ? and the other one
    Thanks a lot for helps
    Regards
    Edouard

The first one is wrong IMO the waA looks wrong for a start the surface txeture i dont like also the main thing i look for is the score lines and on this one they look to have been produced but machineing unlike the 100% origional ones like mine which are scored when hot witch cause raised edges and the sie of the squairs are very random unlike this one they are largely the same size
I wouldent be happy with it in my collection
As for the second sleve ery hard to say as there arnt many of this pattern in origional paint but i have seen a serated frag sleve with the same sort of stamp i would say its good

      Bonjour Adam,
Thanks a lot for Your reply
For you, why the WaA looks wrong ? IMO it's a good one, because a late war eagle and dated 1944 (WaA815 => Steyr-Daimler-Puch A.G., Werk Graz, Österreich (kur) or (tbv) ). The 5 is marked twice, for me it's not a problem.
      My model was machining.
On many frag sleeve, the squairs are not the same size. Look enclosed.
      Any other comments ?

      Thanks

Edouard the WaA looks to bold for me and i have never seen one on one that is 100% origional and the fact that they were made to be destroyed so wouldnt need to be inspected IMO
also you say yours is the machined model I think they are all fake as the scored method weaken the structure and aids the fragmentation also machineing would take much more effort to make for something that will just get blown up

The sleve top right is mine and is the only one there i can say is 100% origional and "brb44" marked the other 3 without more pics i would say are bad certanly the middle one that is 100% bad

and of course Adam got to this before me. yes, I too feel the serrated frag sleeve is a definite repro. if you do an advanced search on these items youll see many comparisons of different ones, both real and repro. the squares should not only be slightly different in size and shape but should appear to be "squished" out from the middles. thats how these were formed, by pressing the metal. also as Adam said there really is no reason to have an inspection mark on them as thier life expectancy was short. I never saw a "reddish" sleeve before but that really doesnt have any bearing here as I just unfortunately dont feel its genuine. when you see the real deals you can tell the difference. as for the smooth sleeve. I want to feel that it is s a good one. the markings on it are very similiar to head stampings and overall it looks good. have you ever had it off the grenade? if so you could do a little test for better verification. I like your grenades in general. does the stenciled grenade have the same makers marks/date on the handle as the head? looks like a nice one. Glenn
