Mauser 98k ammo pouch

Hello,
I have two questions about this Mauser 98k ammo pouch, because I think abut buying it:
- is it real / original German IIWW item?
- for what purpose that ammo pouch have only one box instead of tree?
I saw a few ammo pouch like this, bu I still didn’t know why the box is only one
What kind of German troops used this item?

hello !!
thats remains of german ww2 pouch - sides were cut-off....

its kinda useles - because You cant slip it on the belt anymore - someone simply destroyed a pouch.

pouch in this form wasnt issued for sure... sorry

I heard that single pouches were made for volkssturm - but surely they had a loop to put on the belt...

As Mike has said, this is a butchered standard K98 pouch. Although I have never seen one without the belt loop before!

There are people who believe that similar, single pocket pouches were issued to the Volkssturm or Sentries but I have yet to see any photographic evidence of their use.
