    What is this?? Help....Goggles??

    Hey Guys,

I just got these kind of goggles and I have absolutely no idea what I'm having here. It's brown leather with smooth stuff on the inside. The glasses are so dark green you can't see anything. It smells like the real deal and it's marked inside. The marking says Eugen and beneath it it says W A with something in between I can't read. Here are some pics. Hope you guys can help me identify what this is.

Might be a pair of WW1 period flight goggles or motorcycle..,not WW2 IMO.

I doubt if they would be flight goggles or motorcycle goggles if they are so dark green you can't see through them.....

Maybe more like welding goggles or something?

I still think they are similar to WW1 goggles..
WW1 flightgoggles were made of brown leather and many times fur lined...
If the glasses are green that might indicate for flying over water..
WW2 goggles had 3 or 4 types of glasses, clear, brown, green or yellow, while brown was for the Sun,green and yellow were worn over water..,just my guess..
                Here's a picture,not quite the same,but close..

My first opinion was welding goggles as well, but then I thought they must have had metal face protectors allready.

Then I thought maybe motor or airplane and then I was told gebirgs and then I had to post it

I also posted it on the SS forum and maybe someone can tell me more there. But every help is wanted

Here is a pair of goggles that I bought from a German contact a few years ago. No history available. Strap and fastener are similar. The strap has a very faint date that couls be either 1911 or 1941.

The width of the clear lense at its widest point is 7 cms.
