    gas masks and cans

    Hello,

Overwhelming percentage of gas mask cans that I have seen had no gas-masks inside.

According to you, how many gas masks themselves have survived up until now compared to gas mask cans? (rough estimation)

    I am just curious.

    Thanks,

    Mat

Reason of lack of gasmask in canister could be cause by :
    1. people who used canister for other purposes ( people after war used them to carry tools, for screws, for nails etc. ) and gasmask wer useless for them ( Personally I heard from one farmer that after war he had a lot of german fieldgear on his farm ,specially helmets and gasmask caniters wit gasmasks, and gasmask which were in canisters were pulled out by him from canisters and trown into the river because they were uselles for him . Many times gasmask were cutted in parts and thse parts were used for other purposes )
2.soldiers who carried in canisters bottle of beer or other stuff ( gasmask were carried in their hand bags trasported in trucks.
I can't tell how much of gasmask( seperate from canisters ) is now on market and I think almost imposible to count.
