In this pic you will notice a flat lid in which you flip open to remove the yellow lens.

In mine, instead of a flat lid, it has a thin hinged edge in which you flip open to remove the yellow lens.

The yellow lens are 1937 dated, and the gas mask and canister are 1934 dated with Weimer eagle and a fancy curved "w".

Hope this is enough information to tell what I have here before I post pics.

Hi Mike,
If it's dated 1934, it means that your gasmask canister is the first type issued with the gasmask model 30 in rubberised cloth. It has a higher lid than later canisters and lenses case is different. From 1936, these canisters are mostly used by Ersatzheer units and Luftschutz.
