    Captured WWII Officers Belt??

    Hi all

Found on a Flea Market in Germany.

On the inner Side someone scratched USAF in the Belt with to Stars on each Side.

I'm no Belt or WWII experts but by the Photos I have seen here so far,I would consider it to be a Wehrmacht Officers Belt & buckle captured by the US Army.
But funny is,that I have found it in Germany.

    Whats your opinion.

    Thanks & Regards
    Andreas

Any Info,if its a original WWII period Officers Belt?
Is it the right Forum or go belt questions in a different Forum.

            Thanks & Regards

Do I have to worry, that the belt is not original???

                Hi,

The US Air Force did not exist as an organization until 1948. The USAF would not have been used.

The US Army Air Corps was the air service of the US in WW2. USAAC would have been the abbrievation.

I have no idea what USAFC would represent?

                  Hi Paul,

It does have the inscription *USAF* in the inner side of the belt. What looks to be a "C" is just a Star, scratched in the Belt.

I wonder how or why this is scratched in the inner Side of the Belt?

                  Regards
                  Andreas

Maybe an Air Force Service member picked it up while stationed there... after 1948? I am not an expert on these officer belts, but this one looks period to me.

IMHO its a rather post war BW belt.. than ww2 period...

For me also it doesn't look like a WW2 officers belt, the outside of the clasp looks too much rounded IMO ... Could it perhaps be an old NVA belt?

Like I stated, belts are not my thing.

That would definately explain the USAF imprint!

For my own education, what gives this belt away as post war?
