    Egg grenade and carton

I have an egg grenade that I would like to find some information on. I am unable to find any information on the carton . On the lid it has Abschrauben ! and that means unscrew.
Below the arrow is A.G. FURCARTONNAGENINDUSTRIE DRESDEN-N. and over the U are two dots. Does anybody have a reference to a carton like this ? Any info would help.
On the bottom of the shell is W F R
The fuse will only go into the shell about one turn because the threads are a little larger then that of the shell but the transport plug fits fine. This is not do to the threads being damaged because I have a bolt that fits fine into the shell and a nut that fits fine on the fuse. The fuse should go into the shell up to the sealing string that is about four turns up but it doesn't. Did they make fuses with different thread sizes maybe from different years ? Thanks

I do believe this is WWI. or atleast definitely pre '39. you might want to throw this in the Imperial section. those Guys could probably give you good answers. Glenn

Unfortunately, I can't help with the grenade, but here is a tiny bit of info on the maker of the carton:

AG (Aktiengesellschaft) für Cartonnagenindustrie, Dresden [AG = stock corporation]

Founded in 1888, the firm was transferred to Hamburg in 1949.

Any idea why the fuse is a larger thread size then the shell , different year or manufacturer ? Also thanks Folkert D. for the info on the carton.

Thanks Glenn. That one screws up to the waterproofing string like it should ( the black area on the threads) about four turns. But in my picture you can see where mine only screws in one turn because of the threads being just little bigger on the fuse. I can't understand why there would be different thread sizes on these because that would create a supply nightmare. The threads on my are not damaged causing the problem, its the thread size. Glenn I looked at the Imperial section but one was for Medals and Orders and the other said Uniforms and Helmets so I put it here in equipment.

I received an E-mail from a collector from another web site. He said the Yugoslavian copy of the M1917 fuse has a larger diameter thread then the German fuse and the German fuse will fit in a Yugo shell but the Yugo fuse doesn't fit correctly in a German shell. So what I have is a German shell with a Yugoslavian fuse. I'm still trying to find references to the transport carton, can't find a description or picture of another one. If someone has some info on the carton please post.
