Confirmation needed on breadbag-strap

Once more Jan here with a novice-question
This strap came in with the zeltbahns in the other thread.

The leather parts are made of pebbled ersatz-material. Steel hooks are grey-painted.
IMO late-war, can anyone confirm this?
