    Tornister/equipment Strap

I resently bought this equipment strap but now that i take a good look at it i begin to have doubs.
Main red flag is that the stamp is maybe post-war, i can't read the date good but it looks like 1961, the maker is C. RIESE Berlin.
What do you guys think, based on these pictures.
    Thanks in advance!

(NOTE: some pics are kinda large).

I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

I have to agree with Your doubts - most likely post war straps - I dont like the buckle - and its made with the rough side to inside (smooth side is painted..)

    i dont like it...

          Hello Rick

Yes ,this one is post war made. Most of these post-war ones are marked and dated ,a little difference in construction with their wartime contrepart ,but not that much. Black thread was used by the German during the war ,it can be seen sometime on various German equipment . Like Glenn mentioned ,the heavy varnish on the black side ,is usually the give-away.
          Hope this will help you.
          Best Regards
          Pierre-Yves

              Hi,

Here's a link I raised about several straps I bought.

Airbourne Steve seems to know these well so why not ask him for his opinion?

              Cheers

              Ian
