tropical y-straps

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to get some opinions on these y-straps. In some photos the sewing looks sloppy, what do you think? What about the gray paint on the hook? Looks kind of new? I like the webbing, but am not 100% comfortable with webbing yet. Your opinions??

the only thing that concerns me is the sheen to the grey paint.
Quite possibly repainted post war. Hard to say.
Clips are all correct shape, rear strap is good, leather support piece is good.
Looks like a good set to me. Just dont like that shiny finish.
