    1944 Y-straps

    Hi guys !!
I have those for a while - but I thought I will share it here - because of controversy around a wire type hook.
I know that some collectors dont like them - I have 2 pairs with this type of hook...

other is RBNR numbered - but not dated - this one is perfectly dated - all matched set enjoy

sweet set Mike. I never saw that style of hook before. you always see that other type. love the markings too. initialed and dated with the RBNr #. thats something you dont see much. Im always hoping to find a nice piece I need that is both RBNr # and '43 dated but just dont see any. I would like to have an example like that. also the elusive RFNr #, where the hell are all those pieces at. I never run across those... I really dig yours though. Glenn

even the metal fitting(s) is dated. that I never saw on Y straps. I LOVE markings! the more dates, logo's, WaA and makers marks on a piece the more of a frenzy I get into! Glenn

yes - these hooks are common on late war gas mask straps !! - iv seen them few times - especially on ruberized straps made in 43-44.

Nice!!! I like these late war straps, especially when they have this neat wire backhooks that lots of folks instantly suspect is "wrong". I know a veteran who brought home a set attached to a tornister - he's had more than one "collector" tell him his Ystraps were "postwar" and he just chuckles and says they MUST be, as he got them sometime in June or July of 1945.
Does anybody know who the maker of the buckles are? I've seen this stamp on strap tips also.
