post-war fieldbottle?

Hey, i bought this as Postwar civilian bottle but the fabric around the bottle (dunno the name for it) looks very much like WWII ones, or am i wrong?
what do you guys think? i just wanna know, i planned on converting it to a re-enactment fieldbottle.
