    Pionier Shovel

Hi there. A friend of mine recentely bought a WW2 Pionier shovel, the long handle version. He has looked it over and there are no WaffenAmpts. Are there supposed to be some? I figured if it was used by the German army it would be. Please advise.

no, many shovels werent WaA. being void of one doesnt mean anything, its just an added bonus like all markings. many pieces in general werent marked and ofcourse many more markings just plain wore off over the years making us think they were never there. any pics to make sure its of German manufacture? I agree with Glenn, most shovels have no Waffenamt marking.

          Pioneer Shovel

          Hi everyone,

Yes Glenn, many shovel werent WaA.

But Jeb, if the shovel has the long handle, it's a version for the vehicles.
If the shovel has the small handle, it's a version for Pioneer (like mine).
For example, here the photograph of markings : H for HEER, 1943 and manufacturer

Does somebody already see a carrying case for this shovel ? I seek one since an eternity for my pioneer mannequin

Thanks for the info guys, my computer was fu....messed up and I couldnt get on untill now. I dont think there are any markings on it and I also believe it is a longer handled one. Dosent that mean it is a vehicle shovel?
