EM Army Combat Belt

Bought this at a show and never posted it before. Belt hook appears to have the date 1941, which matches the makers date on the tab. Maker reads:
E.O. Gotze & Sohn
Gersdorf
1941.
Was this company a known leather producer?
Opinions always welcomed.
I did a search of the town and it checks out!!

Thanks guys!! There is an American name under the tab near the maker's mark. Appears to be in ball point pen! I guess the dealer wrote it.
