a question on Mauser Ammo Pouches

    Hi !

I was wondering why most WWII Mauser Pouches have straps sewn to the body e.g.

and some have them attached with metal bolts just like this one in my collection:

Were they made by different companies?
Were they made at different times?
And finally, is that true that the "sewn" version is much more common than the "bolted version"?

Generally speaking, sewing was done early in the war and before the war, and rivets were normal after about 1942 as an economy measure. In my experience, both the sewn and riveted versions are very easy to find.

I have seen rivet mauser ammo pouches from 1941. As guys said , made in diffrent stages of war by difrent companies. Generally sewn mauser pouches were made before the war to the end of war and riveted were made from 1941/42.
