How to recon fake BELT SUPPORT HOOKS

    Hi All again,
    Simple question.

Is there any way to recognize the differences between good and fake BELT SUPPORT HOOKS??

Now they make them in prague and who knows whereelse so id like to know if we find some ,what to look at.
If you can explain the differences and post pics to compare it would be great.
    Thank you

    Dan

Dan. heres a good set. Peter (coolectors Guild) has these for sale lately. He must have gotten a bunch of un issued ones. I purchased 8 of them at different times and thery were of the same shade and condition. no doubts about them once theyre in your hands. email Him and maybe He still has some at His shop. Glenn

I have a question. I have tunics with belt support hooks, these being in place when I obtained the tunics. They are the same as the ones being sold by Peter, but I have a couple of loose sets as well. These are made of aluminum of a somewhat thicker diameter, and have a light greyish brown finish which is not of paint, but more like a chemical or heated effect which does not rub off.

My question is, were any originals made of aluminum, or is bent wire the rule?

I have never seen any in person but the repro's I have seen on the net usually seem to be more squat and thicker. plus the paint just doesnt have that period older look to it. Glenn
