    Help to ID gasmaskcan camo?

    Hello guys!

I hope you can help me with this one. I have a few questions regarding the can, as:

    1. What stage of war?
    2. Witch theatre?
    3. Do you think it is original?

    Best regards
    Marius

              Hi Marius,
From the pics supplied I quite like the look of it. Looking at the pics the Base colour looks sorta grey or is it actually more tan? If it is as it looks I would say possibly kreigsmarine and adapted for field use and had the Red/brown added later possibly postwar later?.

Did you aquire this locally in Norway which if you did would tend to support my theory as Navel.

Marius, the camo pattern on your mask looks like "tan&water" (Sumpftarnung) and this reflects mid-late war period, used by ground fighting forces of the German Army, but not Kriegsmarine. If the cannister has original camo paint on it is difficult to tell by the pictures and if so, its really rare!

Marius, can you confirm if the base coat is tan or Grey ?? and closer pics would help determine if the red has been applied later on. To me the base coat looks Grey or a very lightened Tan.

                    Hello guys!

Thank you very much for your help. The problem is that the can does not belong to me (jet ). The can has not been used in Norway, but Germany. The guy who owns it now says that it is from the winter 44/spring 45. But I will try to come back with better close-up pictures at a later stage

Thank you for your kind help so far

                    Best regards
                    Marius

                      Hello again!

Here I am back with some more info regarding this casmask can. I asked the owner for some more close-up pictures but recieved no answer So I examined the pictures available with a my critical glasses

If you look closely at the red colour you can, on some of the pictures, see that it shines even on top of the rusty parts So I came to this conclusion: The camopaint is post-1945, most likely post-2000 as well. So I didn`t buy it. Here you can see the link:

                      Best regards
                      Marius
