    What were these used for?

I've had this water transporter gor a few years now and have allways wondered if it was for cavalry use or for commissary. Any ideas? Currently it is housing a drop container parachute!

              Hi Gary !!!
I always considered those as regular water buckets - just like canvas buckets used by USArmy, I'v never thought about some spscial purpose

                    Hi Gary,
I wasn't talking to you my friend .....I just meant that I've seen at least a dozen of these buckets sold as "tropical-issue" in Europe !
Beautiful 1937-dated bucket you have...mine are dated 1940 and 1941!
                    Cheers
                    Manny
