    Hightop DAK canvas boots

    Hi guys,

These look like Luftwaffe DAK boots to me except for the color. All the DAK Luft boots I have seen were more of a tan color to match the uniform. Is it me or do these look green?

          Hi John,
again...they 123% do look like LW trop boots(I think I've seen them on eBay) but there are a few details I don't like...they could be post war repros artificially aged imo...and the complete lack of markings is a red flag to me!They've got what look like original heel irons and six-sided hobnails, yet I'll be more than glad to leave them to the higher bidder...when prime footwear surface I always bid..I won't this time..it's only me and I could be wrong of course, but this auction isn't amongst my favorites this week! One thing is for sure...they've got "horizontal" hobnails
          FWIW
          Manny
P.S.;LW trop boots were made in tan, yellowish tan, green and blue!

I don't like them either,I think Manny said it all..
The last 2 or 3 pairs I saw on Ebay were all fake.
If I remember well the guy selling these says he doesn't know if they're real or not..
Now that's a story I can live with..

Here's a pic of a dark pair "luft" boots, although the guy is wearing a shirt with Army eagle IMO.
Might be one of those early FLAK-kers..

            Jos.

I knew you'd have had the same feeling Jos!Your GREAT picture reminds me of a young Canadian lad who found a pair of tropical LW boots in Italy many years ago;the former owner had blackened them with a burnt cork or a piece of coal and guess what? The Canadian £$&%#?> CLEANED THEM !Later on a German vet who fought in Southern Italy told him that blackening the canvas of tropical issue boots with burnt cork, shoe polish and stuff was all the rage amongst many units to make them look more "fashionable" .... ...and more !Yes..I was baptized at Our Lady of Defense Parish,Henri Julien Avenue...Montreal !

                DAK boots

                Hi guys,

Many thank Manny and Jos. I'm always happy to get input from the experts.

I've really been looking out for a Heer pair of canvas boots anyway. I was just tempted to get a pair of Luftys to finish off the mannequin for now. I'll definately pass on this pair though.

                Thank again!
