    A-Frame Zelt Strap Rivet Question

I was wondering if the rivets for the 2 leather straps for attaching a zelt to an a-frame should go all the way through the webbing material so that you can see both the head side and the backing side of the rivet?? Or should it only go through one layer of webbing??

    Thanks,
    Eric

I have seen many A frames posted on this forum and the only one I ever saw with the rivets going thru both sides of the webbing is currently under discussion. and that seems to be going both ways. I dont think I would be comfortable owning one like that but the one up for discussion does look pretty good to me. I own one and it has no "variations". sometimes its better to pass on items that cause contraversy. unless you plan on keeping them forever. its hard enough to sell off nice pieces that are "textbook". also Eric. if you plan on getting one, make sure you put it up for discussion. there alot of bogus ones floating around out there and they aint cheap either. good way to lose $400.00 or more bucks if you rush into something. ask them to put it on hold for 24 hours. youll get replys in that time. EriC !!
both typesare acceptanle - I have two frames - one with rivets going all the way thru (like in Ace frame - also from 1940), second with rivet going thru one layer..
I would say option two is most common
