What about these shoes?

First off, these lowboots are not M37..thy're M44!They're genuine but there are a few issues that lessen their value and desirabilty;they look mint when seen from above but the rust on the eyelets and the severe pitting of the plates,of the heels' "beschlag" and of the nails suggest that these boots have spent a very long time in a very humid environment that has surely played havoc on the leather too!Further, the numbers between the soles and the heels have been clearly "enhanced", especially so one of them, which has been obviously retouched with a red-hot thingie! The shiny black finish on the soles has been applied later, and the same goes for the finish on the upper surfaces!
They're genuine M44 lowboots, but my 25y-long experience in handling WW2 German(and not only German) footwear tells me from a distance that these boots are the German Militaria equivalent to the mummy of Tuthmosis 3rd..very interesting to look at but better left alone!
Please take a look at the attachment;that's how the soles of a sound,un-touched pair of German M44 should look like! The asking price is out of this world, but asking is free and replying is courtesy!
