Hi Matt, over here they are a Section 5 prohibited weapon. You cannot own a live example, only one that has been deactivated so that you cannot place in round inside it. A relic one that would not function would be OK. They are hard to find too.

    Cheers, Ade.

I came in late to this discussion.....Are you talking about the K98k grenade launcher?....Or just owning any type of grenade launchers in general? I suspect in the UK, all types must be deactivated to own....Here stateside, I know people who own grenade launchers for the K98k.....They are legal to own...I believe the "live" rounds which are deemed illegal.....Always thought it was rather weird, but you can legally own a grenade launcher but a small mortar such as a japanese "knee" mortar is illegal to own....Both do pretty much the same thing .....Only a knee mortar would have greater range....Bodes

Hi Bodes, yes were were talking about the K98 example. You are correct in thinking that all are prohibited here in the UK unless deact.

Here are some good replicas. Not sure if these are still being made?

            Cheers, Ade.

Ade, Look like nice repros.....Used to be you could get originals here for about the same amount of money ($400-500)...I haven't priced them lately so I imagine they have climbed in cost too...

Matt, I tell you what would be neat to find....The Germans made a grenade for the launcher which dispersed propaganda leaflets.....I was watching one on eBay about a year or so ago.....Sold for over $500.....I wanted it, but was just a little too rich for my blood.....Interesting item though.....Bodes

              Rifle Grenade Launcher

Here is a link to my launcher set.

              http://www.wehrmachtinternetmuseum.com/launcher.html

the sight is in very shabby condition and has taken alot of work to get looking "sort of good" it was a ground find that I picked up in Germany a few years ago.

I will post some pics of my grenades later today.

              Enjoy.

                            Rifle Grenade Launcher

Here are some pictures of my rifle grenade.

Here are the markings stamped on the head AZ5071ST 44CDO 321

Ink stamps on the body are as follows (I used a * for any letters or numbers I could not make out) 44 **A 580 *

This unit has the solid bottom and im still soaking it with BALISTOL hoping it will free up some day.

                            Enjoy the pics.
