Mint Luftwaffe water bottle

Good Morning .Is this a reproduction or a genuine unissued Blue WB outfit .The seller said this.
"Angeblich Feldflasche eines Luftwaffen-Offiziers - so hat man mir gesagt (1940 bis 1947 in England und Kanada interniert; Bilder davon können mitgeliefert werden).

Kann hier nur beschreiben, wie sich dieses Teil nach Augenschein für mich darstellt. Kann nicht sagen, ob die Angaben zur Herkunft und zum Alter, die man mir gemacht hat, stimmen.

Sehr guter allgemeiner Erhaltungszustand. Korrosionsfrei und sehr sauber.

Aluminiumflasche hat einige kleine flache Dellen – eigentlich nicht der Rede wert. Prägestempel am Hals: V.A.L.39.
Schraubverschluss aus Aluminium. Korrosionsfrei, sehr sauber. Gummidichtung 100% erhalten.
Aluminiumbecher Luftwaffen-blau lackiert (einige winzige Abplatzer). Fast Beulenfrei. Prägestempel am Henkelbeschlag: P.Pr.Bln.
Filzüberzug und Nähte tadellos erhalten und absolut sauber. 4 lackierte und gemusterte Druckknöpfe fest schließend.
Karabinerhaken Korrosionsfrei.
Lederriemen und Nähte (alle schwarz) und Schnalle (schwarz lackiert) sehr gut erhalten"

Hi Rob,

i was said that they are post war west German THW
( Technisches Hilfswerk ) They have the blue color also on their cars.
Iam also not to comfortable with the markings on the cup.
I personaly would pass on these bottles, but these are only my thoughts.

Hi jens too late I bought it ,21 Euros .Its beautifully made just like an original ,thick leather deep stitching the same wolly cover and poppers .But I suppose they would have used the same manufacturers as they did in the war .Never mind I will probably sell it on as a LW reenactors wb .Rob.

The Luftwaffe had the standard water bottle common to the Heer and the waffen SS. They never had blue one .

I agree with the others, this is an original canteen in a postwar cover and cup. Is the canteen cap marked? I believe the cap/straps are postwar as well.

Oh well a lesson learnt , Johnnie I bought this of German ebay I dont know where you can get them from .I am going to stick this on ebay tonight so you can bid on this one ,regards Rob.

There was a blue canteen in the Third Reich, I am not sure what organization used these. They have a blue wool cover and are the type without a cup, with brown leather straps and a strap that goes around the bottle's neck. I have seen one example and know of others out there. Maybe Marine HJ? The one above is of course postwar except for the original bottle. I used to be able to buy these from surplus stores for about $25 but haven't seen them for sale in a while. I see Luftwaffe reenactors with these sometimes, it is a pet peeve of mine.
