      How about an officer's bunk? - Officers always have something better than the standard soldier. As they were supposed to buy their equipment themselves, this could be something on the list for their comfort in the field.

      Reason for me leaning towards this is that I haven't seen any markings yet. If it would be hospital issue, it is very likely that there would be all kinds of markings on it. Not necessarily, but very likely.....

        Hi Frank,

        you are correct on that one. Normaly there should be at least one marking. Officer private purchase could be, but i would think the whole construction would look more commercial in that case. Look at the webbing straps and the snaps. Do you think they made that commercial ? I think it looks 100% like army issued equipment. As i said before, maybe it was picked up somewere between construction and marking the beds. The fact that i can still see blue tailor markings around the straps is also a sign that they maybe never used the beds in the war.
