WW 2 Lazarett Fieldbed ?? ID Help

    Hi all,

yesterday i got these two Fieldbeds. The guy i got it from is some 65 years old. He told me that his dad had them since the end of the war. He think that his dad brought them back from the war. He used it for camping when he was a child.

I inspected both carfully but was not able to locate a makers mark or something else. I can say they are unmarked, but the construction looks 100% ww2 german. The webbing is correct, the stitching is 100% cotton, the snaps looks ok but are unmarked.

Both beds have remains of a small paper label attached with thread to one snap. I can see also tailor marks (Lines) in blue stenceling around the webbing straps. May it be that the soldier got it somewere in a factory at the end of the war before thay marked and waA proofed them ?

I hope some of you can help me with identifiyng. Maybe one of you has seen a similiar bed in a book or period pictures.
    Any help would be great.

    Thanks Jens

Now tell us how long you spent figuring out how to put it together!

I've never seen anything like that before but from the photos it does have that German WWII feel about it doesn't it.

Straps looks good ,metal parts of bag(mattress?) looks genuine too-WOW! I never seen something like that but in my opinion it's orginal stuff.

I would agree with the others and say that the materials look original German WW2 and its quite possible it is a portable hospital bed, or even a foldable cot. Here is a scan of an advertisement from a German WW1 magazine for the same type of product.

                            Hi all,

Many thanks to everyone for your opinions. Only thing i can do is agree with you all about the construction and the material. My assult rubber boat has a nearly identical carrier bag (material/construction) which is WaA proofed and 100% geniue.
If anybody of you have refrence books or Lazarett pics, it would be nice if you can have a look when you are in time.

It makes me crazy that i can not find any markings. Only one period pic would be enough for me.

Thanks to all of you, Jens
