Cheap canteens on ebay...

I really was suprised that nobady was before me?

I got some more pictures and descriptions from the seller. Both a 38 dated and 42 dated canteen in wonderfull condition.

"Buy it now" price was 29 € each...and they were already listed for a day or 2.

Am I the only one who think that these were cheap or what?

yep... to be honest, I got all my canteens cheaper...... but I'm a "koopjesjager" (no idea on the english word... sales hunter ??)

from time to time (if you have the time) you can get them really cheap.... I got one in very nice condition for 1 euro... but that's luck ofcourse....

But I know, they are worth much more.... so Manny, don't worry, you will prabably sell them too

rarer variants are of course much more but much of the stuff on .de goes for a few euros you just have to look around, field telephones for a euro and bottles for a few euro

I've seen Trop canteen selling for my BIN and this one comes with a freebie.....read 1944-dated canteen!

Jan - Did you see that medical pack on USA eBay? It had all the contents inside. I think it sold for close to $900.

I see some of those canteens on German ebay, but many do not accept PayPal or they only ship in the EU.

Could be 'above the normal price' for you guys. With all due respect I'm very familiar with ebay, and it was a long time that I saw a nice early canteen with aluminium cup for that price.

IMO 29 € is not much at all, and if you know early dated canteens in that condition selling at 29 or less €, please let me know. The condition of an item is a major factor too. Most of the time they've got no cup or the paint is all gone, straps bad,etc...

I agree that stuff can always be found cheaper, but in this case I didn't had to hunt though

I have others in my collection which I got in very cheap as well from fleamarkets or local shows (although thas has been some time ago).

I still think I did pretty well, please tell it is so
