Hi,
I used the currwntly Corona-Virus public life stopping to take a few looks to our old fire station (closed in 1985). But we are now using the old small house to store some items and parking our VW Bus.
And, I found a nice Wehrmacht map case withnthe RB-Nr. 0/0365/0012
The inscription means Feuerwehr Verden (the towns name) and L.F. 12 (vehicle No. 12 was a LF 15).
I will clean it and take it to the other map cases. I phoned our still living veteran (born in 1926 he served in the Feuerlöschpolzei and action in Bremen an Hamburg, he was awarded the EK2 and the wound badge as a fire fighter)
He told me that they got a lot of Wehrmacht equipment during the war, like flashlights, gas mask cans, tools. Some were in tan paint but they were ordered to repaint them in black because all metal equipments have been black.
I am sure that I will find more old stuff. And I will visit all of the other old stations. There is more to find. I hope.
Bye
Frank
