I'm posting these for a friend. They are very well made but I can't say for sure.

In researching whether they used metal pips I found this photograph of von Gottberg wearing a pair.

If bad please explain in detail why you believe so, not just "fake", etc. I want to give the owner a fair assessment.

I'm affraid these are not good.
Quality is far off.
Pips should be made from bullion to.
Piping is waaay to thick.

Such as the lower oakleaf should somewhat be curved...

80's fake wirey twist piping, wrong cloth instead of velvet, lack of quality in the embroidery.

Very interesting field upgrade.
He must have though to promote again very soon as he didn't placed the pip in the centre but more upwards instead so he could place another one beneeth it. :-)
