SS honor ring, real or not.

    Hi all,

I have been trying to find out if this is real or not. I am not that good in rings, but I know that there are some in this forum that knows good from bad.

It is engraved to a J. Mater on the 28.03.36

    Thanks for all the help.

    Chris

        Christian,

IMHO this is a clear fake.

          Hi Rene,

How can you tell, what are the "giveaways"?

For a start those small pits between the leaves and runes are casting bubbles, originals were struck from a solid bar of silver then rolled to size and the skull attached. I can't see the inscription but I bet there'll be obvious mistakes there too.

            Cheers,Ian.

Looking at the inscription, it is also very clear to see that there is some casting bubbles in there as well. Now I also learned something new today.

              Thanks,

              Chris

                And the date 03?

                Shouldn't that be only a 3?

Please compare the ring with an original and you see more diffreneces.

                Best regrads,

                Rene

Yes, this is a fake ring.

The date is wrong. Besides the zero, I don't believe that the date is correct for that year.

Horrible inscription, if you can call it that.

Wrong skull for a 1936 dated ring.

                  Wrong style band as well.

                    Thanks

After all you guys have been writing about this ring, I am only glad I got it as a present.

The only thing right about it, is that it is a ring

                    Chris

They just had the date, last name and H. Himmler. Is that it? Chris
