    SS Honor Ring

The oddest ring I've seen to date but does it have a chance ?

I think so. Resized some time and added the skull after that the wrong way.

It’s real, an original early 1934 type ring that has been resized and the skull reapplied upside down unfortunately. But we have seen this before, such as on the “Diddens” ring.

yes, original ring with resize and wrongly soldered skull, after resizing
IMO was made in private jewelry shop

Obviously someone who want to save the himmler engraving on it and don't care about the outside...

                  SS Ring

I suspect the change in size after the war. The Gahr would not have made him like that. Or he could have got a replacement ring.

In the DAL there are 6 Bretschneider.
One of them was Obersturmführer. So if it really was the Willy you can barely understand. Unless he came directly from the family.

replaced skull, poor soldering, extension, wrong side up skull, uneven band cuts, etc..

You can be sure any of the above would have been done postwar....

Out the door that’s prob close to $6300, or more. These just aren’t cheap, no matter how you slice it.

Finally the Bretschneider ring arrived. It was very bad experience for me as a person from abroad to deal with Hansons. Their way of doing business is strange and they are in my opinion unprofessional. From my point of view there are two major issues - communication (or lack of it) and anti-customer attitude. First of all the communication is disaster, the communication goes through general email address, therefore no one is responsible and each time another person replies. Only reliable person was Adrian Stevenson, but I had to contact him through pm of the board. But the biggest disaster was delivery of the ring. After the payment Hansons asked me to pick up the ring and informed me that they do not ship, in fact that they are not willing to do anything in order to hand over the ring to courier! They claim, that they can only ship provided that purchase price is less than £ 150. They recommend some local obscure forwarding companies. I tried to arrange DHL to pick up the ring for me, but when I state, that due to lack of performance of Hansons I must be both - sender and recipient, DHL refused to accept the shipment. When I was absolutely desperate I was lucky enough, that our fellow member Ian Hulley was that extremely kind and picked up the ring for me and sent it to me.

Compare to Ratisbons Hansons are bunch of amateurs who are clearly dealing in general with low cost items and are unable to properly deal with more expensive ones. The premium they charge is PRADA like, but the service is unfortunately at best Marks & Spencer.

Many thanks to Ian again and international buyers be aware of Hansons.

Concerning the ring as such. Waralda is wrong, there are two Bretschneiders in DAL 1935 and three in DAL 1936. The only ring holder at DAL 1935 is Willy, the other Bretschneider is listed as ring holder at DAL 1936. It means nearly nothing, but I will obtain files of all Bretschneiders and will see whether there is anything concerning the ring. In my opinion there is good chance that the ring is Willy’s and that was for me the reason to purchase since Willy’s SS Nr. is bellow 2,000 which is rare and interesting for me.
