    Rare date Honor Ring ?

Hi all , what do you think of this HR ?

Plenty of wear , tap and impact marks , seems honest and not a sandpaper job .

Engraving appears to be hand done looking at it via loupe , worn down but some parts show better details with deep and shallow script , hard to photograph , definitely not casted in text from what I can see ,

    7.3.36 Klingsporn

    Seam present
Appears to been heavily cleaned recently.

Nice Pebbling seen background of N and other symbol , swastika Worn down completely.

Skull eyes may of been reshaped from wear and impacts ?

    Thoughts ?

    Thanks in advance .

The inside surface is very worn and has many voids. Is this a ground dug ring ?

Günther Klingsporn was born in Berlin in 1903. He moved to Osthofen in 1928 and joined the Nazi Party and the SS in 1929. From 1924 to 1926 he had been a member of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) at the other end of the political spectrum. From November 1929 onwards, Klingsporn was unemployed. Klingsporn was known to his political enemies as a very “brutal SS maniac, who actively participated in riots directed at the local branch of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). In 1933 he became a guard at the Osthofen concentration camp. Witnesses described him as a member of the “Einpeitscherkommandos" (whip-commando), which abused Jews and especially despised political opponents in camp II. He disputed this assertion in his denazification trial in 1949 and the allegations could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. In 1940 he was drafted into the Waffen-SS and served as a guard of the SS Special Camp / Concentration Camp Hinzert until April 1941. As a member of the Waffen-SS he took part in World War II, holding the rank of Hauptscharführer (Master Sergeant). In May 1945, he was taken prisoner of war by US forces in Austria and subsequently interned until October 1948.

yes ring , look correct , this is style of 40s years
but why date 36 year ?
If he in 1928 and joined the Nazi Party, that he must be awarded of ring in early time - 30s years
                      Strange setuation ...

                        There is no strange situation.

It is known that ss members could order a second ring, in case they lost the ring or the ring was worn out.
For example Klingsporn ordered a new ring in 1941, so he gets the new ring in 40th style, engraved with the early award date of his first ring.

Christian is 100% correct. Yes, that is a 100% original 40's style ring that was engraved with the early award date because it was a replacement ring given to owner who possibly lost his original ring or it got damaged for some reason.

                              Very interesting info ,

I’ve seen 2 different date of births for a Klingsporn , in this topic one in 1901 & 1903 , same person or 2 different persons ?
