Someone is offering me this ring, claiming it's a vet bring back (of course) and it's definitely not my expertise and I would love some opinions on the matter.

Here are pictures of the one offered as an original in 2005 (@ $10,500). Copies were made of it and offered for sale (@ $79.95). The wear to the one being discussed in this thread may have been applied artificially, or by actually wearing for a few years ?
