I don't think that the overcoat itself is a fake or a reproduction, but it's not a regular SS overcoat either. I once had a WW1 era officers Paletot overcoat where the outer wool shell had been completely dyed black and it had the same fieldgrey wool lining as this overcoat here. So whatever that Mantel had been once (could be fire department, miners, any kind of political, military or paramilitary organisation, either originally black or dyed that way), it was hunked up with fake insignia and tags to turn it into what it is now.
