My second SS 8yr mini.... opinions..

Hi all, this is the second SS 8yr mini I obtained, this one on the estancia. The ring is definitely different than most I have seen. Didn’t know if it was a replacement ring or different manufacturer...? Opinions appreciated.

Here for comparison was the other mini which is 100% spot on.

Given the lack of response I assume that the medal looks alright and the ring was either original to the piece or perhaps an original replacement. Thanks for your time.

      Sincerely, Mike Barnette

        Hello

It may be worth posting it in the political badges forum or one of the medal forums above for more a expert response.

I have no knowledge that is worth listening to on the long service medals!

        Cheers
        Chris

I believe that both medals posted in this thread are certainly authentic. However, I cannot help much in regard to that unique ring that is on the first posted medal, (other than to say that many of these medals are originally found without a ring and that because of this, many have postwar added rings). I think that this is likely to be the case here, but I can't say for sure. It just doesn't look proper, imo. Perhaps others can help you more.

          Chris

Thank you gentlemen, I appreciate your opinions and contributions on the matter. And I have also noticed that most are offers up without any rings whatsoever.
