I wish you blokes would look first before you should out FAKE.
If you know your hobby the armband you showed is a wool type the one put up by Vince is summer wear band to go on a shirt sleeve and NOT A TUNIC.
Read the question again carefully its about the shape and design and material ????
        Look and learn

I never saw such construction and material before for a SS armband.
Offcourse they could have been made in private by mom or grandmam.
It's very well made and I like it for sure.

Why would a light version for use on a shirt being made with a swastika of one piece?

It's an interesting piece none the less.

Vince, this is another one that is not a slam dunk. My comments will be nothing new to you, but here goes…

It certainly is not a textbook armband for a black tunic from the RZM period as shown by Johan1945. (Incidentally, there are some on the forum who would erroneously question his example because of the slight irregularity in the shape of the disc and the somewhat sloppy workmanship in the swastika itself.)

I’m always skeptical of one-piece swastikas, but occasionally they do show up on original armbands. No hint of an RZM tag, so possibly a mint pre-RZM armband for the brown shirt. The materials look OK and it is very well made. Some may scream “Heresy!” but I believe provenance could play a major part in any decision of originality of this piece. Do a burn test and black light it of course.

My advice: Unless it is dirt cheap, wait for a more textbook example.

                  Hello friends,

thanks for all your comments, as i'm not confortable with SS armbands, i prefer to get opinions of specialists.

I advised the friend to maybe try to look for a more textbook armband, as this one may be a bit controversial (to say the least).

                  See You
