You could offer him your top dollar ? I've bought the odd item like this (not saying I like doing it this way) but if it is a rare item that you really want.
You can also look at the other side of the coin too, like if someone puts a price on something and it's sold before you even see it.

What gives me the absolute SH*its, is when ever i put something up for sale I always get the question "what is your best price" FFS

This whole album is just about early pre-war SS bicycle troops.

If you are into bicycles of the Wehrmacht then this is the album for you. Part of it is also pictures of his Mother and Sister and trust me they are not attractive.
