Rune Decal for your opinions please.

Could you please let me know me your thoughts on this decal. Real or fake? It is on an hkp rear stamp M40. Thanks in advance!

Rune decal is a round bottom fake. Scratches are artificially done to make it look damaged during wear. hkp didn't produce helmets for ss. Only Pocher decal would be acceptable if applied during reissue overhaul.

      Hi,

      clearly a bad fake.

For reference, the small study i made and posted previously on the Helmet subforum.

            Thanks, Vince!

Thanks for posting the great info, Vince! Although I am not a Stahlhelm
collector, it was still very educational to be able to see the types of differences
in details that occurred. Having seen this will help me to know what kinds of
details to look for, if I should ever get lucky and find a helmet!

              Hi,

thanks for your nice words guys.

Most of the helmets proposed on the market have decals 4, 5, 6 and 7.

But again, it is a lot of work to study SS helmets, and i highly advise the purchase of the books of Ken Niewiarowicz :

              https://www.germanhelmetsinc.com/

(Also Ken is a friendly guy, and i already bought from him without any problem)
