    rare pirate ss enamel ring

Is it just me or someone else thinks that this ring does not look right?

I agree, firstly look at the enamel it doesn't look like glass (which all old fired enamel should!), the band is also too thick it should be super thin and finally the stamp doesn't look like a one piece stamp (like it should) the seam looks good though. But for me no way would I buy. If it was real that's a 2000+$ ring imo

Ring band is a give away for me on this one!! Should be 3 and not 2 ribs!
And i believe that this example is marked with 935 for high silver as this is extremely rare ring example.

Is anyone able to post the photos of this ring on here for the records. Thanks

On top of that the ribs on the ring band are not very well done!
I know it is a dug out ground recovered ring but still it just does not look right to me.

the ring was brought to me by the digging mashine in my shop, I was happy to catch it. ……………..

Actually an incredible shape for a ground dug ring……..

Without good and detailed photos its just guessing what could or could not be wrong. I would not jump on conclusions based on these photos.

See the second photo posted right side ring band on the bottom at the edge around the ribs area! Is that what you want to see!? That just don’t look right and like i said on original ring there is another set of ribs which are missing here and silver content is not the same like on original.

On top of that anyone who collects rings should know that when seeing ground recovered rings for sale should have a immediate red flag as that is the tool that fakers use now to move rings. Why? So that they can hide flaws which they can’t make right.

I have over 200 german rings in my collection and none of them are ground recovered it is just something you don’t buy as you don’t know what you got!! (don’t make it easy for fakers to flood the market with these so-called dug up rings, if you buy they will make them and ebay is full of them).

And yes if some of you wonder i do own this pirate ss skull with runes in my collection which i got directly from Gaspare himself!!

This the one? This was Gaspare’s and the picture was from him. He gave me permission to use it and to post it about 10 minutes ago.

                      Hi,

please find pictures sent to me by Alexx1 of his ring and the "damage" of the ring that is currently under discussion.

                      See You

Thank you Vince for posting these photos for me.

These are the two rings in my collection that come from Gaspare private collection.

As we now look at the ring in question we can see the difference in ring band details and design which is a clearly missing on the ground recovered example.
Definitely not a ring i want in my collection.

That is very interesting!!! Because to me it looks like exactly one and the same ring that was posted on estand (so-called ground recovered) check the spots on both rings they are at the same places...it is the same ring!

Hmm!!! so if it was sold 2 years ago how did it then got dug out again and walked into his shop as stated by seller on estand!? As i stated in the beginning something does not look right here with this ring.

                              Hi,

bingo, we have a perfect match... Same ring.
It probably explains the ugly low-quality pictures proposed by the seller...
