I’m not sure that I know what you are asking?
The wear is heavy as it oftentimes is on these early 1st types particularly. Usually wear is most extreme on the back area and the skull and this one seems typical in that respect

On picture one the wear on the skull/bones looks odd maybe just the lighting angle of picture taken, the wear looks artificial same for the right hand panel, just an opinion.

Yet on Dietrich's ring a 33 one it's in mint condition with photographic evidence that the ring was worn constantly. So did they wear easy or not ? Very contradictory the Totenkopf Ring !!

I’ve seen a LOT of worn ones and they were real. Not to say every worn one is real by any stretch!
I have long understood that the redesign was in part at least to reduce the tendency to wear. That may be wrong but generally 1st types show the most wear and in the highest percentage of rings IMO.
I can not speak for or account for Sepp Dietrich’s ring other than to say that rings could be and were at times replaced and with original award date. It is for sure that wearing one was only part of the wear and tear equation with the larger part being the conditions of wear and maybe if the wearer was right or left handed.

All that said, I agree with you that ring shows extremely high wear for about 8 years of period wear unless wearer did a lot of manual labor with it in wear

Good point and a feature that leads to suspect mentioned Dietrich's ring did not belong to Sepp, but to someone else with same surname.

That said, SShr '30 were made by a soft silver alloy so they wear off quickly.

P.S. of course I would be more than happy if someone proves I'm wrong

))) but 40s years rings too quckly wear
I have ring of 44 and enought wear
although it seems to me that it was worn on the idea of not more than a year
But 30s years style rings, just has not so deeper relief

Is this another of your revealed truth like the one TK rings are 2 pieces, die struck, made flat and then rounded?

Can you show us a real data that support your statement?

Noticed the wear also. One area very worn like he had a nervous habit of rubbing it. I think wear is very subjective and not reliable as a good/bad indicator on a close personal item like a ring.

Is it not possible that a ring was worn many years after the war, such as, a war trophy?
