Precisely! of course some real ones out there but, Schulterklappen has been stating this for a few years openly. The new computerized embroidery machines allow fakers to make some tough to discern "reproductions".

"LAH - Uniforms, Organization & History" by Stan Cook and R. James Bender (1994), page 269, bottom, shows a large, flowing cypher where the crossbar of the "A" leaves the letter and touches the "H". The caption attributes that piece to the David Delich collection.
On the same page, on the top, the book shows a drawing (only) of a seemingly light grey, pointed strap with a large, flowing cypher, like the one shown here on the thread.
In about 20 years of intensively collecting and researching the LAH, I have never come across a pointed, grey, strap with a large, flowing, cypher on period pictures though.
Markus.

But I have never seen the crossbar of the A go outside the letter and attach to the H as in this one. A sewing error? or did someone go a bit to far in adding stitching. I don't know. Something to ponder.

Just the latest of fake lah insignia .

If it's a fake one, they are getting pretty close.
Would like to study these on hands to compare..... scary!
Grss
Don't forget the ones in chainstich as well, plus the shoulderboards in grey/green!
Sometimes the "L" goes above the "A", sometimes it goes below, etc. Sometimes the crossbar of the "A" touches the "H", sometimes not...
I only have one of the big ones and it's 100% identical to the ones from the Johann Houtjes tunic. With that one I can sleep well at night.
Best,
Markus

don´t believe in every book Markus
there is no need to bring anything constructive, the board is constructive enough as the emboridery is a laugh on its own.

The board yes, but where are the mistakes in the embroidery at least looking at it on a computer screen?
I look at the Hritz, Embree, Delich, etc. cyphers and they all look different in small details. Confuses me, that's all.
Any tips as to what to look out for where we all can learn or it's 'members only'? For me sharing and learning is that's what WAF's about. We all have our strong and weak points and I have yet to meet the collector who knows it all.
I always try to help out fellow collectors with my knowledge and spend considerable time writing emails to help others.
It does not give me any kick to laugh at others or point fingers at someone who got burned on a bad purchase.
I get a kick out of taking my 911 RS for a spin !
Gruss
