An observation.

Reproducers of Imperial Regimental beer steins often use a mixture to artificially age the lid to reproduce patina. It often looks slightly purplish in tone.

It is noticed on one of these items.

Both badges are really horrible. First one is a bad attempt of the SS zivilabzeichen and second one is pure fantasy.
