I recently obtained this SS Erkennungsmarke in a large collection of WWII items, and would love your opinions on it. German dog tags are beyond my sphere of knowledge so thank you in advance for the help!

On the top of the tag someone etched the numbers 74833

And if that etched number is his SS member number
then the owner of this tag would have been

Wow, I had no idea these were so researchable! Maybe its time for me to get into them. Is there a reference online you used to search this number?
